Introvert Petals Newsletter

Introvert Petals is a weekly newsletter for Black women introverts to feel seen and validated. You can expect to learn more about introversion, laugh a little about the funny things introverts do, and get some tips and encouragement for living your best introvert life.

A Little background ...

First, this newsletter, Introvert Petals, is an extension of The Happy Wallflower blog.

I started The Happy Wallflower because I was tired of having to explain myself to extroverts all the time. Quiet contemplation and meaningful conversation are not what the cool kids are doing. 😂 And being naturally quiet in a loud world is often perceived as weird.

Yes, being an introvert when extroversion is the culturally dominant personality is certainly a challenge. But being a black woman and an introvert is even more so.

Society already places expectations and stigmas on women of color. For instance, we’re always supposed to be superwomen, sassy verbal ninjas, and everybody’s mother. Exhausting, right!?

Well, my quiet friend, we deserve a space where we can be our quiet selves unashamedly and unapologetically.

I created The Happy Wallflower to be just that space. A space where black women introverts can learn about themselves, have a good laugh, and find encouragement for living a quiet life in a loud world.

There are other introvert blogs but none focused exclusively on Black women.

I started Introvert Petals to have a more personal connection with the folks reading the blog.

What to Expect in the Introvert Petals Newsletter

Introvert Petals is where I will share things you won’t find on the blog. You can expect:

  • My random musings about life as an introvert
  • Information about introverted personality
  • A quick laugh about introvert behavior (let’s face it, as great as we are, we are also quite funny at times 🤭)
  • Tips and encouragement for navigating different spaces and relationships as an introvert

There will be about 1 longer read per month, and the rest will be shorter reads you can enjoy on the go.

'Til next time!
